Rise to Empower Single Mothers Africa (RESMA) is a Ugandan non-profit organization established in 2025 to advance the rights, dignity, resilience, and socio-economic empowerment of vulnerable single mothers and their children. Based in Fort Portal Tourism City, RESMA brings together dedicated professionals and community leaders committed to addressing the structural challenges that perpetuate poverty, gender inequality, social exclusion, and vulnerability.
Our work is grounded in the belief that when a mother is empowered, an entire family has the opportunity to thrive. Through holistic, community-driven interventions, RESMA promotes economic empowerment and sustainable livelihoods, access to health and social services, child protection and education, human rights, and community resilience. We equip mothers with practical skills, livelihood opportunities, business support, and knowledge while creating pathways for their children to remain in school, stay healthy, and build a secure future. Our work contributes in advancing UN sustainable Development Goals.
RESMA goes beyond short-term assistance by addressing the root causes of vulnerability and strengthening the capacity of families to become self-reliant. We work alongside communities, local institutions, development partners, and other stakeholders to create practical and lasting solutions that restore dignity, expand opportunity, and enable vulnerable families to move from dependency toward independence.
